SUMMARY:Webinar: The Energy Footprint Tool – What We Have Learned
DESCRIPTION:For the last two years\, every Charge in the Province has been asked to complete the Energy Footprint Tool\, usually just referred to as the EFT. \n\n\n\nThe data gathered allows each Charge to see the size of its carbon footprint and track changes\, particularly when measures have been put in place to reduce this footprint. \n\n\n\nBecause data is collected across the Province\, we can see the carbon footprint at the Diocesan and Provincial level as well as the Charge level. In addition\, we can compare data from similar sized Charges to your own. \n\n\n\nData collected from the EFT enables the Net Zero team to assist Charges in developing strategies and securing grant funding to reduce their carbon footprint. \n\n\n\nThis webinar will explain why the completion and continued completion of the EFTs are important and what they can tell us. \n\n\n\nUsing graphs and charts\, the webinar will examine the carbon footprint of our Charges at the Provincial and Diocesan levels in various ways\, including both the smallest and largest emitters using banding\, comparing 2023 and 2024 data\, the effects of renewable tariffs\, different types of heating used by the Dioceses\, as well as trends and direction of travel. \n\n\n\nIn addition to presenting our data in various formats\, this is an opportunity to explore what the EFT is revealing and how we can streamline the process for Charges to collect this data.

SUMMARY:Genesis\, Big Bang and AI: Understanding God the creator in an age of science
DESCRIPTION:Are science and Christian faith in opposition\, each fearing the other?  Does science become an idol\, replacing God as creator and saviour?   \n\n\n\nPs & Gs Church\, Edinburgh are hosting a talk by David Wilkinson\, both an astrophysicist and a Christian theologian. David suggests that while science and Christianity ask each other searching questions\, those questions are enriching not destructive.   \n\n\n\nThe Christian understanding of God as creator allows science to be seen as gift rather than curse\, to be welcomed with awe and a sense of responsibility to do good. \n\n\n\nMore information and registration can be found here: \n\n\n\nBible Lab – Genesis\, Big Bang and AI: Understanding God the creator in an age of science – Ps & Gs Church
