We were delighted to hear from Eco-Congregation Scotland that St Mary’s Ullapool recently received their Silver Award. The congregation had applied for Bronze but, after meeting with them, the Eco-Congregation Scotland assessors decided they were already reaching Silver. This award demonstrates the active involvement of the congregation in caring for God’s creation, both practically and through their worship.
The Eco-Congregation assessors noted that they were impressed by the Green Screen project the church has initiated. This project involves screening films with an environmental focus at the local ferry terminal and is supported by other community groups. The assessors were also encouraged by the congregation’s engagement with our in-house SEC Net Zero team.
We would like to echo Eco-Congregation Scotland in congratulating Revd Dr Clare Caley, Revd David Higgon and all the congregation from St Marys Ullapool in this great achievement.
