As summer turns to autumn, it seems a good time to be thankful for the fruit that has come from the work of the Net Zero team over the past spring and summer. The team has recently given updates at the Provincial Environment Group meeting, the General Synod Office staff meeting, and will be reporting at the upcoming Provincial Standing Committee meeting. Updates are a great way to reflect on progress that has been made, as well as identify challenges and areas for growth.
All the Net Zero team members continue to connect with charges across the province. This includes giving advice over email or online meetings, and in-person visits. Team members are also working alongside the Diocesan Environment Groups, many of which are planning events to take place over the autumn. Keep an eye on our Events page for details of these and other events coming up.
Jack has arranged some specific webinars on funding opportunities, so do register for those if you have not already. And keep checking the latest updates to the Funding page, including our map of local funding.
Neil has worked alongside Paul and others to get the Energy Footprint Tool up and running. Whilst this has felt a long process, it is now encouraging to see data coming in from charges across the province. If your charge has not yet completed this, please do encourage the treasurer to. Get in touch with Neil if you have any questions.
Bethany is keeping the information on the Net Zero Portal up-to-date and regularly shares news on the Stories page. Please enter your email address here to receive these stories and case studies straight to your inbox. Bethany is also supporting charges with HeatHack workshops, training and events. Now is a great time of year to plan for the HeatHack workshops, as thermal data can be collected over the autumn and winter months.
Iain has developed important partnerships with various organisations, ensuring knowledge and experience is shared. He has been exploring the impacts of climate change on SEC property, a vital part of future-proofing our buildings.
Daniel has been kept busy offering guidance to charges across the province. He has continued to provide additional content for the Buildings Guidance section of the Net Zero Portal Resources.
