The Baird Trust has agreed to fund Scottish Episcopal Church net zero projects after a direct request made by the Net Zero team. At a recent meeting of the trustees, this request was considered and agreed on.
The Baird Trust, prioritises the work of church extension and improvement, and charges are welcomed to apply using the ‘Repairs / Upgrading / New Build’ grant stream. This unrestricted funding stream can be used for any net zero works that relate to physical decarbonisation of church buildings and halls, or other sustainability projects.
Charges must provide a copy of their annual accounts, and further application information can be found here. Applications are submitted via email and are regularly considered at meetings of the trustees.
The Baird Trust was established as a corporate body by an Act of Parliament in 1939 and updated through the Baird Trust Reorganisation Act 2005 in the Scottish Parliament. The Trust was originally established in 1873 with the goals of countering ‘the mitigations of spiritual destitution among the population of Scotland and secure the upbringing of the young’. The Baird Trust regularly makes grant awards to various Christian denominations across Scotland, funding upgrades, repairs and new building projects in places of worship.
