The Net Zero team are organising some in-person events to showcase energy efficiency measures and retrofit projects. We hope these events will be useful learning experiences, allowing alternative heating options to be seen, felt and discussed in a way that online webinars or photographs cannot provide.

The first event is a Green Rectory Open House event on 14th March from 11am – 3pm at the Aberfoyle Rectory which serves the linked parishes of St. Mary’s, Aberfoyle, and St. Andrew’s, Callander. The EPC A-rated property has achieved net zero and utilises an air source heat pump, insulation, new efficient radiators, solar PV and batteries. There will be representatives from installers and funders on hand to discuss the project, answer questions and provide support. More information and registration here.

This will be followed up by a Radiant Heating Open Church event on 21st March at Old Saint Paul’s in Edinburgh (directly across from Waverley Station). Old Saint Paul’s recently replaced their gas boiler system with a system of radiant chandeliers and wall mounted devices, and are very pleased with the results. Eucharist will be held at 12.20pm, allowing the opportunity to experience the heaters during worship, and an open-church demonstration session will follow. More information and registration here.

Thirdly, we have a Solar Panel Open Church event on 25th April at Saint Andrews church in St Andrews. Holy Communion will be held at 11am, followed by presentations from funders and installers and a tour of the Solar PV installation. A light lunch will be provided. More information and registration here.
