Churches in rural and island areas of Scotland can now apply for a grant to install electric vehicle (EV) charge points on their premises. This is thanks to The Energy Saving Trust’s new Business Charge Point Funding, which includes microbusinesses and third sector organisations.
Funded by Transport Scotland, the grant covers up to 100% of the purchase and installation costs, up to £5,000. It is designed to help make switching to low‑emission transport more affordable for smaller organisations.
The grant is only for private charge points, used by staff or fleet vehicles. It is not for public charging. More information can be found below:

This grant could be used alongside the Provincial Sustainable Travel Grant to assist clergy and other church staff to charge EV cars.
