Charges are invited to attend two upcoming webinars providing training on constructing effective funding applications, and using their green spaces in inventive ways – caring for creation and supporting the SEC Net Zero Plan ‘petal’ of Thriving Biodiversity.

In collaboration with Faith in Community Scotland, an SEC tailored Fit for Funding Training course will be offered held on Thursday, 5 March – 1:00-3:00pm.

Fit for Funding is a short course provided by Faith in Community Scotland which aims to help you:

  • Think through your fundraising plan
  • Identify funders that can support your work and
  • Simplify the process of applying for and managing funding.

The course is primarily an introduction to the world of funding, funders’ jargon, priorities, and outcomes.  Equally, it is also a way to build connections with those from other charges doing similar work and a great way to build mutual support and your own networks as you navigate the funding process.

It is hoped that you will leave this session empowered to take projects forward to funders and gain their support as we pursue our Net Zero ambitions.

Whether you are brand new to projects and finding funding or have years of experience, our hope is that you will find something useful and share your wisdom with the group. This is an extended workshop programme of the session offered at some Net Zero Roadshow events – please note this webinar is two hours long.

The training workshop is provided by Allan Ramsay, Community Development Worker for Faith in Community Scotland.

In collaboration with Operation Noah, an SEC tailored webinar session titled ‘Thriving Biodiversity: Caring for God’s Creation’ will be offered on Thursday, 12 March – 1:00-2:00pm.

Sharon Hall, Campaign Manager with Operation Noah, will introduce their Church Land Use Vision about using church land for climate and nature benefit, and how you and your church can be part of it.

She will share some inspiring case studies from other churches and Christian landowners, and offer some free resources to give practical suggestions for local church groups and campaigning for wider influence.

There will be a chance to ask questions and share from your own local context while learning about actions taken at other charges.

Please contact Jack Nevin to register for either of these webinars.
